American Idol - Week 2

Man - o - man!  Where do I start?

Jasmine was a total disappointment for me.  She is beautiful and has a wonderful voice but her song choice was terrible and she sounded awful!  Too bad... I thought she could have made it far.

Norman Gentle - *shakes head*.  I have to admit, I had a smile on my face the ENTIRE time, and just couldn't tear my eyes away from the TV. Secretly, I really want to see him make it to the top 12. Granted, I know he's a joke, and he doesn't have the best voice, but gosh, I do enjoy watching him perform.  I just want to keep watching to see what he does next.  Oh Norm!

Told you to watch out for Allison.  :)  I love her smokey rock voice.  She's kinda a weird girl in her interviews, so I'm concerned about her likability.  She needs some more experience but I think this show can do that for her.  Definitely will be in top 12, perhaps top 6!   We'll have to see if she keep up with the others.

Kris and Megan were wonderful too.  Kris needs to up his personality or else he wont make it too far.  I predict he'll be in the Wild Card show. Megan is fabulous!  Her little dances and moves on stage are a bit strange and I'd like her to correct it but I know she'll be in the top 12.  I look forward to seeing more of her.

LOVE Adam.  Maybe it's the theatre girl in me that loves fellow theatre junkies.  Who knows?  I really enjoyed his performance but wish he choose a better song.  This boy will make it far in the contest.  He's really likable which is a great advantage for him.

So... my prediction for this week?
Adam as top boy
Allison as top girl
then either Megan or  Nick/Norman.

I guess we'll see Thursday night....

Who do you think will go on?

Champagne Anyone?

Today is my "friday", so I thought I'd celebrate by cracking open some bubbly... a champagne themed wedding board that is :)

Is it Thursday Yet?

This is what I'm heading to on Thursday...beautiful and sunny Florida where it will be in the 80's all weekend! *sigh*. Looking outside to the rainy 40 degree Seattle weather, I CANNOT wait to go!

Plus, I get to throw my first baby shower and see my BFF Stacy! I haven't seen her since August 2007 and my heart is aching to be in her presence again! I can't wait to laugh and talk for hours and, of course, meet Owen!

Stace, I'm coming for ya! 48 hours! I'm so excited for you and so proud of you for doing so amazingly awesome with your pregnancy!

Weekend Update

It surely was a beautiful weekend! Saturday reached around 60 degrees and Aaron and I decided to choose a bike path near our house and go for a nice bike ride. Well, I rode my bike and Aaron rollerbladed since his bike is being ordered. There are so many bike trails in the Seattle area that I have a feeling our butt's will be glued on our bikes all summer.

Aaron and I are new at the sport. We've been wanting to get bikes for the longest time and finally for Valentines Day, he got me one! We ordered him one as well, a Cannondale F9.

And, of course, we had to buy all the fun acessories. Who wouldn't have fun ridding with a helmet like this? We also bought a water bottles and a car rack. Fun!

We then went to a couple wineries. We first stopped at Senoj and tried their two new wines that will be released next spring. The first one we tried was their 2006 Passport which is a Bordeaux style blend with 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, blended with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petite Verdot. It was pretty good wine with nice tannins and a smooth finish but I prefer the 2005 Passport. It retails for $30/bottle. A little more than I'd like to spend.

Next was the 2008 Malbec. Some of the wine was bottled for the tasting this weekend but it's still aging in the barrel. It was terribly young but already had a lot of complex flavors. I could really see the potential in the wine and knew it would be fantastic in several years. If we bought some wine that day, we'd get 30% off. WHAT A DEAL! So, we bought 2 bottles of the Malbec but won't have it in our hands until Spring 2010. Their 2006 Malbec sold out so fast, as they only made 70 cases, so it was worth the "pre-order".

TGIF!!!

Whee! It's the weekend! It could not have come any sooner. This weekend seemed to drag on and on and on. Never the less, it's Friday now, no use in reminiscing over the long week.

So, what's a girl to do on a beautiful Seattle weekend? Wine tasting o course. The hubby and I and a friend are going to one of our favorite wineries wineries Senoj for their '08 Malbec and '06 Passport Preview Party. Live music, fantastic wine, catered appetizers... what more could you want? Since we're out, we might just have to stop by a few other wineries ;)

Of course, you can expect a full report Monday morning of our wine tasting experience. Which wines were brilliant? Which were a bust? You'll have to stay tuned! I know, the suspense is killing you....

What are you doing this weekend?

Wedding Boards

I've been married for over 2 1/2 years now, but I'm still obsessed with weddings! Love 'em, can't get enough of them! So, there is this trend called "wedding boards" where Brides will collect a group of photo's that carry the colors, feeling, theme..etc of their wedding and compile it on a board to use as inspiration throughout their wedding planning process. I wish I had heard of this when I was getting married because it would have been a good resource to bring vendors so they could better visualize what I wanted. Well, I am more than making up for it now! I've found a new hobby to do when I'm bored. I think of a wedding theme and make the inspiration boards. I know, I need a life, but I also need to look busy at work when there is nothing to do. I'd like to introduce to you my 1st wedding board I created. If you can't tell, the inspiration is Tiffany and Co. If you're kind, I'll show you some more i've made. ;)

Many thanks to snippet & ink for introducing me to this concept!

Great News!

The gym/club I work out at has asked to feature me in their monthly magazine. Last year I worked (REALLY hard!) to loose 50+ lbs and the 'powers that be' over at the club find it very inspirational and want to share my story. I am also a volunteer mentor over there, mentoring people who are looking to lose weight and change their lifestyle. They want to feature my success and talk about the mentor program at the club.

I am so honored to be asked to be in the magazine and I'm completely humbled as well. This really is a HUGE deal!

Looks like I'll be in their may/june issue. You can check out past issues of the magazine if you're interested: (http://www.proclub.com/PROPulseMagazine/PastIssues/tabid/619/Default.aspx)
There are great articles about health, and fitness. Stay tuned!

Lets talk American Idol!

Along with everyone else, I am a huuuuge Danny Gokey fan!

He's a great singer but I have a feeling there are going to be a more talented singers on the show. You can't help but to like this guy. He's got a great story, supportive friends, and an all around fun, down to earth guy. It doesn't help that he's been showcased on the show more than most contestants.

I'm excited to see the rest of the 36. I haven't been convinced yet that Danny be my American Idol choice. We'll see...

Watch out for Allison Iraheta, Jasmine Murray and possibly Kai Kalama. We haven't seen much from Kai yet so I'll be excited to watch him perform next week.

Adam Lambert also has a special place in my heart... he's either going to make it to break it. I guess we'll have to stay tuned....

idk

I've always wanted to start a blog filled with a little this and a little that but never had the follow through. We'll see....
